Samantha and Arthur

Excerpt from Citizen Diplomats: "The questions end, the audience gives her a grateful ovation, and Samantha exits to a chair on the side of the room. While other children make presentations, her young-lady chic disappears as she sprawls across her father's lap like a giant kitten. Samantha is tired. It is already an hour past her usual bedtime. But she and her father can't slip away just yet; a short photo session is scheduled after the program. Then they must drive nearly two hours from Gorham back to Manchester, for tomorrow is a school day. Samantha Smith is in the seventh grade."
